Frame swap?

Currently I am toying with the plan of swapping the chassis (powertrain and all) of my F-600 to a newer 4x4 with EFI and maybe even an automatic.

I've found stuff for doing it to an F-100, but an F-600 will need a whole different sized truck. I had planned this all the while prior to finding my truck, I wasn't expecting to find one that ran, let alone an F-600.

The truck is still drivable with it's original set up, I plan on enjoying it like that for at least the rest of this year, but I have a feeling I'll soon find the high rpms at 60 to be killing me, and the desire to have EFI growing every time I start it up.

Would something like a '90s F-350 work? Guess I'm going to just have to measure everything I walk by, lol. Just curious if anyone had an experience with this.

All of those things are doable. You won't be driving a mid fifties F-600 anymore though......

An alternative is replacing the engine and trans with something newer like a 300 cu-in 6 with an E4OD or ZF 5 speed...... this way you have pretty good power and you'll have OD so the RPMs on the highway will be manageable.

The newer 300's were EFI. I am staying with the 292 because the Y-blocks sound very cool.but it's getting bolted to an E4OD because it's a good strong automatic..... Overdrive and parking brake on the back (see my gallery)

you can bolt that cab on any chassis. The cab is the same From an F-100-800. Only the fenders are a little different (bigger on the 600+ trucks).
