I found out Saturday that I have three bad fuel injectors which have all cracked at the tip (right before the fuel squirts out). So, here's my dilemma: I have been thinking that at this point it might not be a bad idea to replace all of the injectors. I have the engine compartment dismantled for the plugs, so why not do everything now why I have it apart? (Save myself from headaches later) My local parts dealer said fuel injectors would cost the following:
Motorcraft: $112.42 piece
Standard (their in-house brand): $72.98 piece
Remanufactured Motorcraft: $35.88 piece
So, what do you all think? Has anyone had success with an internet business or does anyone know where I can find Motorcraft brand stuff for less? I don't want to risk putting 3rd party crap under the hood and having it go bad on me after a few months. I'm all ears at this point.
I replaced all of my injectors for my '98 Expy several years ago with Bosch injectors from Five O Motor Sports (Powerstroke Injectors - Ford Truck Fuel Injectors) - they were excellent and I haven't had a problem with them, and I've been driving up and down from NYC to Florida for years. Since you didn't post the year of your Expy, you can check the various vendors on eBay and see whether or not you find something to your liking. expedition fuel injector, eBay Motors, 1997 items on eBay.com. If you'd prefer not to deal with someone on eBay, I highly recommend RockAuto - they're excellent (they have their own website as well as sell on eBay). The link below is for a '98 Expy, but you can go their main page to get to your model. 1998 FORD EXPEDITION Fuel Injector

My fault. It's a 1997 XLT Exp with 5.4L in it. Thanks for the websites, I will check them out.
Has anyone here dealt with Remanufactured Fuel Injectors for LT1, TPI, 5.0L, 5.7L Mustang : Home ? They have an e-bay store and everything looks good (yes, looks can be deceiving) for the price. Rebuilt fuel injectors in sets that have prices that I have not found lower so far.
I'm not a big fan of "rebuilt" injectors because they're not really rebuilt. Mostly they're just cleaned, tested, and then shipped back out with a new set of o-rings. All of the wear and tear is still there, so they will not last as long as new injectors.

In your opinion, since I have three injectors to replace (tips cracked), would you replace all 8? Or would you just replace the broken ones? I know very little about fuel injectors and my concern is about flow rate of the new injectors as compared to the originals and if that will make a difference. Secondly, if I put aftermarket reproduction injectors in, what is the chance of running into premature failures.
I'd like to put new Motorcraft injectors in, but that's very costly. My local dealer quoted $112 per injector, $75 for the Standard repro brand, and $35 for Motorcraft rebuilt injectors.
are they putting them in or are you? If they are tell him you will pay the $112 for the first one and for the rest you will pay them 10% more than what they are paying per injector. If you have a flat price of $112, it sounds like they are charging you the cost of putting them all in, from start to finish, not just putting them all in at once if you get what I mean.

Nope this is all me for install. I even asked for a package deal (lol) and it's not an option. If you want brand new motorcraft, you must pay $112 per injector . That's why I'm cringing. It's just so odd that 3 injectors, numbers 5, 6, & 7 would all be cracked when the others are fine. My concern is that eventually the rest will crack and I will be tearing into the engine compartment continuoulsy when I feel like the smart move would be put all brand new in and don't worry about it for another 100,000 mi +
