4wd not engaging...need hub info

Lights are on, front driveshaft is turning, all fuses are good, appears that hubs are not engaging. How do these hubs work on a 01 f350, automatic vs locked, or any other ideas.

The auto hubs work off vacuum. Does your heat default to defrost no matter what you have it set to?
