How do I replace the side mirror on the RV (Ford E-Super Duty with a
V10)? I cracked it. It is one of those that is stationary and you move
the entire housing to adjust it. There doesn't appear to be any
mechanical way to remove just the mirror. Is it glued in? Do I get a
replacement from the auto parts store?
Help would be appreciated.
I can't say for sure, but on another car of mine, the glass mirror parts is just glued in and held around the edges by a plastic part inside the housing. I used a small screw driver to pry it off (I did brake on this way), then I use standard windshield sealer to glue another in it's place. I've seen replacement mirror glass at Kragen and PepBoys for many different models.
If your talking about the whole mirror, I'd look inside the door for mounting bolts.
The problem is the RV is my uncles and he cant really take it anywhere cause he lives way out in the hills. its 40 miles to the grocery store, and prob. a good 1.5hr to nearest shop and thats not a glass shop. thanks though
