Exhaust problems/Need expert advice
Ok here is the story. I had flowmasters (stage two) installed on my 02 lightning. The truck ran fine but it was a little too loud for my taste so i took it back in and the guy put two "conventional" mufflers on it, you know, the quiet , regular kind. Now you can hardly hear it running. So heres the problem: When i drove the truck home last night from the muffler shop, I really got on it to see if i noticed any difference in power etc. IT SEEMS (and i stress) that the boost guage is "sticking" at 6lbs and not generating more boost under wot. However i was able to get it into the 8-9 lb range when it downshifted into second and rpms were up around 4000. I dont remember the truck acting like this before, it seems like it would jump up to 8 lbs in a hurry before. Also it seems like i have lost some power(which may be a no brainer) I am more concerned about overheating the blower?? (I dont know) i am just concerned about doing damage , or having done damage,can anyone help ?? Truck has diablo chip.I am supposed to go on a long road trip soon so time is of the essence in getting reply. Thanks
