Question 1953 with 239 flathead value?

I got a 53 the other day,and it has the 239 flathead, and 4 speed. It is from Georgia, and has some rust, but really not too bad..
The floors and fenders and bed are all good....just a little jerr-rigged.
It is converted to 12 volt......but not very professional....to say the least.
I bought it as a 2 truck deal......and wonder what I should ask for her?

I am not into the flathead, but it sounds great. Starts right up,and does drive, but brakes need bleeding.......and the wife wants me to sell it.
What price should I ask?
Bill

If you can get the brakes fixed so a buyer can actually drive it home, I'd think around $2000 MINIMUM. It makes a huge difference whether they can drive it or not, and especially if they don't have to haul it home. A picture would help!

I think the truck will be a good driver.....just electrically challenged and jerry-rigged,but nice bed and nice fenders and cab is nice.....doors are alittle iffy.....will determine if I will haul it to OHIO or keep it in Florida.....for sale.
Thanks

Pics are coming....I just have to bring her home from my Florida home. I am wondering if it would sell better in Florida or Ohio?
Hate to bring it home and someone in the south want it.....but will do it in the next week.
I never had a flathead before.....they sound really cool.

Hi Bill,
I would give it a try selling it in FL, We don't have many of these trucks around here. Put it on craigs list. I can help you with that picture issue. email me with a picture of the truck and let me know if you want me to post an add to craigs list for you. Were in FL is your place?
I would like to take it off of your hands but my budget wont allow.

Merten...My place is just outside of crystal river. I may take you up on that. I am getting jammed up with trucks up north anyway. I just sold a bunch of parts this weekend, and really don't need anymore now.
Julie---Terri says nice try...haha
55---Boley gets heck just for having his own stuff at home, let alone any of my trucks...haha

It isn't worth a thing without a chevy injune in it or for that matter a 400th. I know how tight space is at your place so I think you should load it up and haul it over here.
I don't know how much you got in it so far buying it (You most likely got took) and dragging it home so heres the deal;
Its 90 miles round trip from your house to mine - you drag it over here and give me $20.00 for your efforts and we'll call it even - Or if Terri has to come over on one of her inspections I'll be nice and drop it to $10.00.
Hows that for being a Buddy

Sorry-Dick...lot's of interest in the 53.
I had bought a 56 from the same guy and he had sold the 53. Then I get a call and the 53 is back, and I end up buying it.
Hate to go back down south again since it is warm......at least for 2 days...haha
