heddman elite headers..

hey all. just wondering what you think of the these headers, i really like the fact that they are 14guage and a 3/8 thick flange. my truck is a 75 f250 460ci 2wd auto. my truck is single standard exhaust the only upgrade on it is a mild rv cam. truck is my towing rig. thanks all.

I looked this type of header up on the Internet and they look pretty good. Just make sure that you get the ones for motorhomes if you are towing. A lot of guys make the mistake and get racing headers and can’t figure out why they have no low end torque for towing. I also read a test article somewhere and can’t remember where that the stock manifold on the 460 will deliver as much low-end torque as the motorhome headers. If that’s true then why waste your money? I wish I could remember where I saw it. Maybe somebody on here will read this and give us some insight. I know that headers on a high performance engine make a heck of a power increase, but I am not sure about towing. Hopefully someone on here has some actual experience towing with headers, but as far as the headers go, they look pretty good.

To be honest I really like Headman Headers, I've had several sets but the one that has inpressed me the most is the set I still have on my wife's 77 FireBird that I installed almost 15 years ago and yes we still drive this car on a regular basis and the headers have never rusted thru or came lose. They do have a flat spot where she has run over something and they have flattened them. Sorry didn't mean to sound like a comerical. This is not a stock engine in this car either, even though it is the original engine.

Actually I just ordered these headers tonight for my 460. From what I read and research I felt the same about the gauge and tube size and collector size. The price is also good if you ask me compared to other brands. I actually had a young guy quote me $650 here in Canada today and I ordered them tonight from SR and they were like 336.95USD but with shipping and conversion I will still save some $. When I get them I will do the install and take some pics if that will help anyone.

Later D

Header Pics

Okay so I got them and installed them and I must say the look great and installed great as well, but then again there is no sheet metal on my frame right now so that made it really easy.lol. Anyhow there is lots of room for the starter and no clearance issue at all. So my frame is a 1975 F150 2WD Long box Reg cab. Check out the pics.
