laquer thinner

I have been using automotive grade laquer thinner for about $8.00 a gallon. I found a 5 gallon drum of thinner at the home center for half that price. Is all laquer thinner the same or should I stay with the expensive stuff at the auto paint store$

I use recycled thinners from my autobody jobber. $25 Canadian gets me 5 gallons. I only use the recycled thinners for cleaning and not for paint applications. I prefer to recycle because body shops go through a lot of the stuff. If you went to a bodyshop supplier you would be helping us all out in our recycling efforts.

With thinners, you get what you pay for. Cheaper thinner has more crap in it. It's best for cleanup, but get good stuff for thinning paint.
