I have been having problems with my truck not starting. At first it would not start after I had been driving for a while. Thursday, I got up to take it to the dealership to check it out and it did the same thing. Ofcourse it took them all day to get it to do it again that day. Since then it has not done it at all, so they cannot figure it out. Has anyone had this same issue I can go to them with?
I'm sorry, new here and thought when I signed up it would automaticly show that it is an 08 Lariet 4x4. I bought it in april and now have 40,000 miles.

woah! i don't even have that kinda mileage on my 07, well as for the ignition does it crank or does it just click like as if it was in gear?
As if it is in gear. Everthing works, just won't crank. It is taking me longer to get it to start each time. The Ford house cannot get it to do it again, so I may have to get it back and wait till I am stranded some where. It is Cold in Houston and the temp may have somthing to do with it?

how cold you talking about? if its anything below -10degress celcius at night on a reg basis then the truck needs to be plugged in at night
when the vehicle is warm? sounds like there might be a short of some sort, probably within the ignition. thats almost definately covered under warranty so i would suggest send it back to ford when its warm and show them the problem
have you checked each section of your starting system for voltage drops?
**edit and for the record... my truck has started without plugging it in at -40*C so it never NEEDS to be plugged in. it really should be as its not good for the engine but provided you have good compressions it should start regardless. oh and make sure your oil isnt just sludge
I would hope the stealership would do that. But they will not until it does it again.
you'd probably have to leave it with them for a while so they can re create the problem, that or take after you've been driving around a while and see if it'll do the problem.
