05 Headlight questions....

I have a set of 05 lights to go on my 01, and I have a few questions. I know I will have to change my headlamp harness, but what about the turn signal and side marker harness. Also, does the new harness just go wire for wire, or are some of them in different positions? Anyone have a how to?

I found this in the tech folder. Not sure if it helps, but it says it's an '01.

yeah, I found that too.... I think who ever is in charge of the "tech folder" needs to do some cleaning up. Thats only in there because of the title. There is ABSOLUTELY NO good information in that thread. None of the questions I have were answered by reading that thread.... Thanks for looking out though.

For the headlamps the aftermarket harnesses are pretty much plug and play. They plug into the stock wiring and then into the H13 bulb in the 05-07 housing.
If you get the heavy duty harness you have to hook up the relays to the battery, hook up some ground wires, etc...
If you get the stock pigtails from Ford you have to cut and solder.

Turn signals are exactly the same. You can rotate them out of your 01 corner and rotate them right into the 05-07 housing without changing a thing.

The small marker lamp is the same bulb....but a different socket. On the 99-04 trucks it uses a 90* socket that plugs into the harness, while on the 05-07 it's a straight socket. If the socket comes with the 05-07 heads you get, simply unplug the old one from the harness and plug the new one in.

If you buy the headlamps from Ford, or the Eagle Eye lamps (ebay, local, etc.) they should come with all the bulbs and sockets for the heads, turn/parking and side marker.

What do you mean by "eagle eye"..... Anyway, I was looking at the harness that GOS sells and they are insane if they think 2 relays and 3 plugs is worth 55 bucks. I saw in another forum where the guy from GOS said that his harness was a good deal because it would cost almost twice as much to get two pig tails (once again, he is full of ****, there is no way it would be over 100 for two plugs). I think I am going to build my own relay harness and just wire them up on my own.... Thanks for the help...
