'76 4 Door SuperCab
I was thinking- why can't my truck be 4 doors. I have a '76 F150 that I am doing a frame up build on. It has considerable rust repair. So far everything is beautiful. I've replaced the two floor pans and the rear floor deck. The repair is stronger than the original. Everything is done with eight inch reinforcement and new sheet. Anyway, I found a supercab at a local yard. It has the floor rust but nothing else. Cleaning rubber mats with water is a bad idea if you plan to keep the truck. I was thinking of buying that cab and making it a four door similar to the new trucks with the rear suicide doors. I don't want to use my cab in case things don't turn out correctly. Has anyone out there done this? My biggest worry is cab strength. I want to make it hella stout without adding 500 pounds of steel. The other thing I worry about is latches and hinges. If anyone out there has done this please respond. It is a cheap custom so I don't have to worry about vinyl that came in the Lariat's.

That sounds like an interesting idea that would probably involve a lot of planning and parts off of a newer extended cab to make it work, but it would be really cool to see. But according to a post that is in the general conversation forum which has a link to an article some where, Ford did not make supercabs until 1994. We all know they are wrong but it just proves the, "Stupid people do stupid things." phrase. In this case it would be stupid people publish stupid things.
