transfer case identification

transfer case identification

not sure what kind of t case i have in my truck. the tag is gone off of it and i dont know much about these things because i normally dont mess with them. All i can really tell ya is the truck is a 79 supercab 460 auto. The t case shifter has 5 positions. Hi-lock, Hi, Neutral, Lo, Lo-lock. Thanks for any help

You have a New Process 203.

Verify underneath. Posting pics would help in identifying it.

forgot to mention locking hubs, but sounds like you got it. Didnt think a whole lot about it but now it makes sense. I had a f250 with a 205 in it, still had the tag thats how i know, and it had the 2 hi, neutral, 4 hi and 4 lo shifter. But thanks again. Ill get a pic and post it to be sure. Oh and it is NOT divorced.

Here is a recent post with some great pictures showing the difference between the 203 and 205.

Note the 203 has a large aluminum rear output housing compared to the small aluminum bearing/ seal housing and irong output shaft housing . The 205 also has a 1 1/2" round plate on the rear with 3 bolts holding it on.
