Tar Removal

Does anybody have a recommendation for removing 50 year old tar from the inside of fenders? I used a heat gun to remove the thick layers and tried using lacquer thinner to remove the rest, but the lacquer thinner evaporates too quickly. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use kerosene. The slow drying time allows it to work on the tar longer.

Hi,

I put Varsol into a pump bottle, spray it on, then use lots of elbow grease
