How to read axle codes
Howdy fellas, new here, great site! Bought a 88 F250, for my son( I will get it next year!) Would someone kindly advise the axle type, and ratio? I will post the codes shortly. The truck is a surprise for my 16 yr old, so I am fixing to paint it , and give it to him next month!

You'll need to supply a lot more information from the truck for anyone to help you with the information you are asking for. EDIT: Just noticed that you plan to post codes later.
Whats the vehicle GVWR? Is it 2WD, or 4WD? Engine size? Transmission?
The information you seek should be fairly easily deduced from the tag on the axle itself, and/or the door jamb sticker.
