clicking lifter

What are the easiest ways to fix a clicking/knocking lifter? The truck does need an oil change so this could have something to do with it. Also, how bad is it to have a clicking lifter. Truck is just slightly clicking.

Are you sure it is a lifter? Several things can cause those funny noises. Anything in the valve train can do it and sometimes those slight noises are pretty much impossible to find.
