Thinkig of using synthetic paint color white.Shermin wiiliams offered me 1 gallon of white w/reducer and hardner for 75.00.Curious if anyone has used this stuff .He says it's cheap paint but would last couple of yrs.Just a carpet laying 84 econoline woudn't mind it shining a bit.RJLB......
You will have to be more detailed in the paint description. I have never heard of synthetic paint before. Urethane, enamel, acrylic enamel are some of the types you would most likely have based on the price you quoted. Seeing as enamel is antiquated and urethane is still very much in use I suggest you have acrylic enamel.
I have never heard of it either. The guy I spoke with said "synthetic based paint"He also said it was a much cheaper paint than enamel .?#*#? I don't know maybe he was pulling my leg.Anyway I plan on painting the van gray or silver. and i am just going to purchase enamel base paint.I'll e you back what this guy says, when I call back. Thks for input.
God Bless America RJLB...... Amen.
I recently painted my 84 Bronco with PPG OMNI Urathane over MTK epoxy primer. It worked great (well maybe to good because now I am prepping my 78 Bronco for the same treatment) and was not too expensive either. Usually the White comes cheaper than most colors in all paints.

At the paintstore by my house there is a paint shop that sells synthetic enamel and acrylic enamel. The acrylic is cheaper. They sell the sherwin williams brand.
We used to do a lot of warehouse maintenance and used a lot of synthetic equipment enamel to recoat rooftop equipment such as HVAC units etc.We painted an 80'x100'steel buildind with it and it held up quite well. This was in Portland Oregon so the weather was quite harsh. That was 14 years ago and I still cant get it out of my hair LOL.Usually comes in a two part mix.

I just got back from Canadian Tire. Looking for fender flares I spotted a synthetic automotive paint. $39 dollars a gallon, $30 for reducer and $19 for hardener. You can't beat those prices. I have no idea about quality but I would like try some to paint the box on my F150.
