I am going to be purchasing an 7.3L f350 for work. I work with animals and am going to be putting a cap on to keep the animals in. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can get heat into the bed/cap area? I need to keep the animals warm in cold weather.
Right now I have a 7.3L E350 but I can't stand driving a van and since I travel throughout the Northeast and Midwest, 4 wheel drive will be a great benefit. right now the only benefit to having a van is that I can keep them warm.
You can get an accessory heater that works with the cooling system same as the in cab heater. Just need to extend the heater hoses & run power for the fan. Nice safe way of doing it with animals involved.

Thanks for your reply! I just did a quick search, but I couldn't find/am not sure where I can order an accessory heater. Do you have any links or places you could direct me to get one?
Not hard to do. You will need 2 "T" fittings for your heater hoses, enough heater hose to reach to the bed, a heater core, some sort of fan to blow air through the heater core, a switch to control the fan and some sort of valve to turn the hot water off for summer use. You also might want to purcahse or fabricate a metal box to stuff it all in, with grills on the front and rear for air flow.
They refer to these as a bus heater in layman terms or a aux truck heater and they are also sold has heavy equipment heaters. Be sure to put a ball value on one of the heater hoses so u can shut it off in hot weather. It will heat some even with the fan off as long as their is cirulation.
