steering wheel replacement

Will a steering wheel from a 1987 F-250 / F-350 fit a 1986 F-250?
The 1987 wheel looks a bit smaller in diameter.
Would like to change out the skinny wheel for a wheel a fit fatter.
Easier on the hands on long trips. Tried a cover but wasn't comfortable with it.

The 80-91 models use the same aftermarket mount kit, which means the shaft is the same size. Also the collumn diameter of the 87 looks the same as the 86. So i dont see any problems doing the swap.

Look for an XLT wheel from an 80/86 or a wheel from a van. Same splines, same style but much thicker.

I was looking at steering wheels out of a 87 and a 85, they look the same to me. I may even try this swap.

I think I got my "thick" wheel out of an '87 Bronco XLT; much nicer wheel. It went in to my '85 with no problem and is destined for the '86.

Found a fat wheel from a 82-86 XLT Bronco in excellent condition.
