Top Tuners.....

I wanted your guys opinion on what you think the top tuners are.... Sct, Edge...

Also, what would possibly be the best bang for your buck.

In general though, I just wanted to see who has what and why. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm a newb and just bought an 04 F350 FX4 6.0.

Only has 24,000....It was the toy truck from the previous owner.

I got an oasis report and everything looked good.

Anyway thanks in advance for your thoughts on this topic

I reasearched b4 I started I wanted a preadotor.... After that it was a toss between superchips and sct. Both can be custom tuned or tweaked. The sct was easier and I felt better. Since I have been using it no complaints I wouldn't even think or base my dec. On fuel milage. Not that mine got worse but some get gains some don't. My truck runs 200% better with the tuner.

SCT X3 with custom tunes from innovative or spartan. I have mine tuned from innovative, great service before during and after the sale.

Thanks for the input guys. I was looking into tuners and I was leaning toward the SCT Livewire, but through some buddies I heard that it doesn't work to well.

Spartan's Phalanx looks nice but a bit too expensive.

Im thinking either an SCT X2 or X3

It's a crap shoot on rather or not you'll get a good one or a bad one. I wouldn't take the chance on it myself.

It is, but then again it isn't. But I'm in a good position to be able to take that position.

xCal 2 would be my preferred. It seems to load quicker and unless your wanting datalogging abilities, it doesn't have the little quirks with it like the xCal 3. Now those quirks are no where near like the LiveWire, and are easy to fix, it just has it's quirks.

While I have had a few and agree on SCT,
it depends on what you want ---- no - really - what you NEED!!!!!

MOST of them give you a better responding truck and typically a few mpg more...

Many can be customized... and there's the most important thing - THE fastest, most expensive computer in the world is useless without the proper programming, so feret out who will do you the best job of programming for your programmer !!!

(FYI - I am still looking for the right tuner (person, not hardware) for my 05 Ex it's acceptable as is, but not like I want yet)

Some people opt for just a bit of a boost - say 60 hp or so... others want it ALL !

No matter what you get, the gas engine people will cuss you when you complain abot "only 100+ HP boost" for the money
Cost them 10 times for the same amount of boost on the turbo diesels

happy hunting !
