well pops wants tires for his truck that are quieter so hes giving me his. they are 315s. i will be doing a leveling kit but how much more will i need to shim my bumper to squeeze them in?
prob gonna try and see what clearance is. but his rims wont work. the SD's went to metric pattern. i wish they did work though. i love his rims lol. stainless washers is all i need right?
you don't even need stainless, zinc coated will work to help resist corrrosion, just something to help push the bumper out to give you some more clearance
I'm running 285's on my rig. I had to extend the bumper a decent amount so they wouldn't rub when I backed up. They were fine when I was driving forward.
I put a add-a-leaf in before I got them installed as well.
Yes, they cut the corner. I don't have any pictures on my computer saved of it, but I'm sure someone can fill ya in.
FWIW - You probably need to do more than a leveling kit with 34's. The wheel well is going to look pretty full and you will definitely need to raise the back aswell.
i know they will look full. i just aint got much $$ at this time and if pops is lookin for quieter tires then HECK YEA! i'll take free shoes any day. lol i suspect i will have to shim my bumper a good bit maybe have to use longer bolts to since pops killed bambi 2 years ago and i got his cousin this year
I recently saw a truck with 35 s on it and they didnt shim the bumper, they cut the corners out. Didnt look too bad,... I like it better with the corners though. They shaved out about 2" at a 45* off the lower corners not real noticable. Looked like over kill at that much could probably do it with 1" and your leveling kit and still have room to spare.
I have 285's on my 2 wheeler and all I used for the spacer for my bumper was the original nuts as spacers on longer bolts, I'll post a few pics tommrow since its raining and I've had a few beers. Jack
