Diesel Transmission

Can anyone tell me if the ZF transmission use behind the 7.3 Liter Diesel is the same as the one use behind the 460? The diesel uses an adapter plate which bolts to the back of the block, to which the trans is then attached. Looking at the engines/trannys in the truck, the clutch housings appear very similar.

I am looking for a ZF5 myself for the same thing, and to my knowledge the 460 and the 6.9/7.3 bellhousings are close... but different. I don't think they will interchange.

Nope, won't fit. Diesel pattern is all by itself.
