Let's all just remember that it's not the kids who started all this.

It seems to be a thin line between love and hate sometimes......

#1. Couple having trouble conceiving. Go to fertility clinic. Successful. 6, or 7, or 8 kids are born....healthy. Everyone raves. The news channels, the talk circuit......Donations from private and corporate entities roll in---whether or not the couple actually needs it or not. Childbirth is a beautiful thing, and the lucky couple was 'blessed' multiple times at once.......Life is affirmed.

#2. Single mom with six kids and mental issues goes to fertility clinic. Idiot doctors know the situation, but they've got the money anyway, so they'll do the treatment. 8 kids are born. The mom's family situation is revealed, and now she's seen as a welfare queen with no sense of responsibility and is nuts to boot, and the taxpayer will be footed with the bill. The kids will likely grow to be prostitutes and crack addicts, and the greedy octomom is trying to suck welfare out of the state and Oprah, and can't take care of herself---let alone (now) 14 kids. Hatred and disgust abound.

***Have I about got it right?

Again, she's got mental issues. The kids didn't do anything wrong. Again, if there's blame to be put out there, I'd go after the fertility clinic. That was just pure, damned irresponsibility. Can the State sue civilly? If so, the AG of CA should file a lawsuit against the fertility clinic for child support. $500/month/child until they're 18. That's $4000/month.............$48000/year...........X18 is what? Just over $900000 they'd end up shelling out?

Now. Why the hell not? If some sap got her pregnant, then un-assed himself from the situation, a child support suit would levy a similar judgment against 'babies' daddy'........I know in NC, it's around $500/month......I've got a friend paying $150/week (one child), which is $600---so I'm being kind with the $500/month/child judgment against the clinic.

In THIS case, the fertility clinic is 'babies' daddy'.......

That's 'Baby Daddy' Steve..
or maybe the grammar and diction is just better down there in Carolina.

I said it above, "the kids didn't ask to be born into a freak show"
But I'm sure she has signed a hold harmless clause with the clinic.

No. It's just as bad here, and you're right. I was just trying to emphasize the 'plural' characteristic of the situation......
