body mounts
i am replacing the cab on my 70 F250 4X4 and i have a bit of a problem. the brackets that are rivited to the frame (which hold the cab mounts ect) are completely rusted. i torched them off completely because they were trashed. here is my question: can i buy these replacement brackets anywhere? surely someone has ran into this problem before. this project is on hold until i figure out what to do here! HELP!!!
I know that the rear of the cab bolts directly to the cross-member.
If you are talking about the front cab mount brackets, I have a pair on a '67 3/4 ton 2-wheeler that you might be able to use.
I was given the truck by a friend when his kid trashed the immaculate chrome front bumper (I had offered big bucks for it) and blew the 390. I put the front clip and cab on my '70 1/2 ton. Then I cut the frame just behind the cab mounts and made a trailer out of it (so it would match my truck).
I still have the rest of the front frame/suspension (plan on using the spindles to convert mine to disc brakes. Let me know if you want the brackets, and I will grind the rivets off and ship them to you.
Do you have anything of equal value that we could trade? I'm working with a 1950 Ford 2-door sedoan (302/C-4), one '55 Mercury 2-door Montclair (mine - soon to have a 429/C-60), a second '55 Mercury 4-door Montclair (my wife's - will have a 400M/C-6), a 1959 F100 (will have high-horses 390/toploader), and my '70 F100 with a stock 390/T-18 w/ 4.11 rear(use it to tow my gooseneck car-hauler; will have an overdrive next summer).
