I applied two coats of Herculiner - great stuff! Looked so good I almost stopped there. But I threw in a drop-in too. Now I have no worries about my truck bed.
BTW, it seems that all of the drop-in liners I could find (Dura-, Penda-, Colonel/Rugged-) all "scuff" the liner so it isn't as slippery in an attempt to "prevent load shift". Thanks, but THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I DID NOT WANT!!! Of course, it doesn't do much at all to prevent load shift, just makes it seem aged - like buying pre-washed jeans.
Thanks again to everyone.

What do ya'll think of using the roll/brush-on bed liner as undercoating under fenders and under cab and bed? It seems to me it would resist rock chips well and would hold up?
Thanks
Spend the money and get a spray in liner. I got a LINE-X a few weeks back and wish I would have done it years ago. I have hauled over 3 cords of wood in it so far and it is definitly abraision resistant. I love mine.
I did the inside of the cab with Herculiner and some dripped thru a hole. I was sandblasting the underside and tried to sandblast off some of the herculiner. it was VERY VERY tough. it hung on great.

58Model,
I do not doubt that the Herculiner would hold up well, but I would dread the application. Clean, sand, clean, de-grease, coat 1, coat 2. The same thought occurred to me too, but I quickly dismissed it.
78f250,
I did not do this to be cheap. Reading this entire thread would make that clear to you. I now have the bed surface I want without promoting damage to the metal. Those spray-in liners are too spongy for me - I WANT my load to shift.
Karljay,
yeah, this stuff is scary-strong.

My secret well not really any secret but an idea if you don't care how much you care for your truck or its a total work truck (like mine) use plywood. Thats my bed liner, it's also what my box is made of... i whish i had a better job to pay for better stuff. **sniff**
