Windshield Scratches

I've got a 1979 F-250 project truck. I've cleaned the front windshield but have some light annoying scratches and spots that don't seem to come off. Is there a way to "polish" thes out??

Eastwood makes a kit just for this, it uses a drill and has some polish and pads. I think it's about $30 or so...

Okay, great! I've tried thorough cleaning but still get alot of glare at night so I really wanted to do something about the problem. I appreciate your response and the link.:

p.s. forgive the off-topic but how do I get the "Oo" to be and image?

I just finished polishing my window on my 66. You can find cerium oxide polishing compound at a rock or gem store or at some glass shops that cater to crafters. The oxide costs about $10 and goes a long way. The felt pads can be found at a body shop supplier for around $5 so you would save about half the cost plus shipping.

I was able to take all the wiper haze out of my window with about 6 hours of polishing.
