Power steering pump ?

Power steering pump ?
What does one sound like when going bad. I thought it would be squeling but there is a knock that seems to be coming from it when engine running. Kind of hard to hear and pinpoint with the motor so loud.

Here is a tip I use to pin point noises... Take a 3 or 4 foot length of heater hose or equiv and while the engine is running, carefully put the end of the hose on the pump and the other end to your ear... then try different areas of the engine.. If it is the pump, you will hear the difference..
