They say the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem,......
I usually will buy parts for my truck if think it's a good deal regardless of whether or not I actually need the part at the moment. The argument is that I MAY need them at some point in the future. I'm sure most of you with older trucks do the same.
Well it's officially gone beyond that now that I bought parts for a truck that I don't have. The argument is I'd like to own one , and if I ever do, I may need these parts! Pretty thin argument but the price was right.
I now own a pair of full length Cab Corners for a '74-79 Supercab. They're NOS, go from the roof line to the bottom of the truck and include the whole rear side window. Essentialy, full rear quarterpanels for a super cab.
I'll be in therapy for a little while but I'll get better, ......
Welcome to the club Frank, there's lots of us here!
Most of my parts trucks are for trucks I have but it`s a full farm yard of old Ford/Mercury tin!
As for me getting better, well, let`s just say it never likely happen!
I've been purging my parts collection of stuff I don't need. I'm trying to purge everything around the house that I don't have an immediate use for (like for sure in the next 6 months use). Cleaning up a previous homeowners collection of absolute junk & garbage is teaching me not to be a packrat.
Well Rick Ive got to agree with the Broncos out here. We dont use as much salt as they do out there. My BII's 22yrs old and very lil rust. The older trucks out there are like falling apart arent they??
And Frank I just had ta razz ya man. No offence

That's one good thing about us Ontario folks we does have a great sense of humour
Actually Ive never been to Toronto. Maybe some time. We have friends that live in Etobikoke I think is how it spelled. Ive never been much further than Saskatchewan as a teen Every summer time when we got outa school Id go and help My Uncle on his farm and drive his old Ford truck.
Part of my childhood Ill never forget. And one of the reasons I like Ford so much.
All in good fun around here, ya gotta be able to laugh at yourself once in a while too.
I'd love to visit western Canada, farthest west I've been in Canada is Sault Ste Marie !
I have been to Colorado and visited Rock Mountain National Park, the mountains are awesome, so one day I'd like to see the Canadian Rockys but cash is tight so we dream a little.
Colorado must have been nice. After all isnt it John Denver that sings about it??.. Yeah the Canadian Rockys are nice. But the place I want to move to is Alberta. Sure Id be giving up the mountains but the air seems cleaner in Alberta.
And another good point to getting outa Dodge is theres just so much gang violence out here now. There was another shooting just a couple blocks away from my 5yr olds school.
Now as for dreaming about places to go and mountains to see.. Id like to one day go see the Smokey Mountains. Another famous place with a song.
