I have a '78 f100 which came with a fiberglass rollpan when I bought it.I've always liked the way they look so I left it.If you get rearended,the pan will be th eleast of the problem if you have a nice tailgate.Without a bumper,the bed ends and tailgate will take the beating,I've seen some that the bed was completely trashed but the pan was still in good shape.Just depends on how tall the vehicle is that hits it.It's a give and take type situation.
