CCV RE-ROUTE???wtf?

Hey guy's i am confused about some this ccv mod, everyone is talkin bout a filter set-up or re-routing back into intake...special containers for venting and catching oil....why not let it vent straight to atmosphere just a hose hanging down below truck....this is how my 04 cummins was vented in fact every cummins truck up until most recently is vented this way...never a problem with it......Just wanna know what the big deal is with having it vent with nothing on the hose......??????

There is no big deal the filter keeps the oil from spraying the under side of the truck or dripping in the driveway.

I had a filter on mine too, until about a month and a half later I went to pull the filter and it was oily and tried blowing in it and it completely lacked almost all airflow....I had noticed that the engine seemed to be acting sluggish...but idk may be a mind thing pulled the filter off cause I feel that with oil saturated in it that there is no way it can breathe...

I just bought a CCV kit from stealth automotive. I was in contact with a representative through emai. It's about 100.00, you supply the hose......everything else is included. I would be up to venting it to the ground, but I really don't want oily residue all over the underside of my truck, boat or 5th wheel. Regardless, the rep claimed IT WILL NEVER CLOG AND NEVER NEEDS SERVICING. You periodically open the petcock @ the bottom and drain oil from the canister. It reroutes back to the intake as CLEAN air....NO OIL.

It really looks like a nice, functional and solid kit. I'll post when I get it.

Besides the drips and getting oil all over the bottom of your truck as was mentioned, it smells bad.

CCV Mod is the kit name. It is a blurry pic. Someone on this site posted a picture of it installed on their truck. I can't recall who. Good Luck
