Last year my wife was diagnosed with cancer and has been in treatment since. Last week we learned that the cancer is still spreading even with chemo. The Drs here have decided to send her to M D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX. We leave in the AM. She will be there for 2 weeks for evaluation and up to 10 weeks if they decide on a line of treatment. We are taking the RV, so we'll be comfortable at least. I'll stay for the first 2 weeks and then have to return to work, being self employed is great, but if you don't work, you don't eat.
The withdrawals will come from not being able to drive my 53 for at least 2 weeks, but I guess I'll have to make thay sacrifice. It'll be here when we return
Wish us luck, we'll need it in the big city. Please keep Donna in your prayers.
You and Donna are in my prayers. Travel safe. I hear good things about M D Anderson. They have a national reputation. You may be away from the truck for several weeks but we are just an internet connection away. Keep us posted and we will keep the prayers and encouragement coming.
Jeff, My wife Carol and I will be hoping for the best possible outcome for you and your wife. Either way I know you are going to be going through the ringer for a while so We'll be thinking of you. Keep your spirits up.
Sandy and I have been through it too at M.D. Anderson. They are great there, supportive as can be, and obviously they are one of the top cancer treatment centers in the world. You are in our prayers. Very importantly, keep a positive outlook. Six years ago they didn't expect Sandy to be here today, but she beat it. You can too.
Your motor home will probably be smoother and easier to drive and get better mileage than your 53 if it drives anything like my 51!
Thanks everyone for the prayers and well wishes. I'll update as we have more news.
Julie, my 53 rides, well, better than most 56 year old trucks, but still like a truck. We pulled the little teardrop camper almost 1K miles last year on one trip, but I don't think I want to camp out of it for an extended stay.
