Replacing body mounts

Does anyone know how exactly you replace body mounts on a Superduty?
I've got an 04 and can feel the mount directly under the drivers side floor everytime I hit even a small bump. I crawled under to take a look and can't seem to figure how it comes apart. Also what tools do I need? It looks like it can be done without a lift but I'm no mechanic. What is the life span of these mounts? I'm sure that depends on how the truck is operated. Thanks in advance

Matt

I haven't done a Ford, but I've pulled many on chevy's and it's the same concept. There is a bolt that goes up through the bottom bushing into the floor pan. Drop the bolt, I recall 18mm on the chevy's, and the bottom bushing falls on you. Then pry the body up and push the bushing out the side. You need to loosen up several to get the body to move easily.

They are just rubber, they should last 5-10 years easily. Stay with rubber though, the really high durometer poly bushings transmit a lot vibrations into the cab and make the ride less comfortable. Also be sure to have top and bottom bushing on each mount.
