Talking Auto Locking Hubs

On my 1993 F150 i need to change the wheel bearings but the clip that is suppose to hold the spring so you can just squeeze it is broke and now the spring is somewhere lost in the hub. Anyone ever run into this problem and what would be the cheapest way to save this truck.

easiest way to save the truck is junk the auto hubs and get some manuals if you get stuck in 2wd your autos arn't going to engage and you will remain stuck

If your autos are in good shape then it is worth taking them apart and fixing the broken parts. Most dealers are still able to get parts for these autos.

I switched my perfectly good autos to manuals on the advice here and I regret it.
