Really cool electronics problem

I have an '06 Expy with 89k on it. Lately I have been having multiple problems that have really no link what-so-ever except that they're all electronics related.

1. Truck will go into fail safe mode on rare occasions with no SES or codes thrown. Turn off truck and immediately start and runs fine.

2. after resetting both trip odometers, one will read significantly more miles than the other, like 3-4 hundred miles different. No symetry to the discrepancy.

3. My power seat will stop working then start working again for really no reason other than it doesn't wanna. Had to disable easy exit seat because I got tired of getting stuck in exit position.

Other than a pinion seal and oil leak repaired, this has been an amazingly problem free truck, hell I still have the original Continentals and front pads on this puppy. I don't know what to make of these problems, any guesses???

First thing I would look for is a multipin electrical connector somewhere - firewall, perhaps, under dash, wherever. Could be loose or corroding, somesuch. Too many things happening not to have a common cause.....computer perhaps?

You may want to take a good at those brake pads and tires. 89K is a LONG time and rotor problems can be $$. Both are a potential safety issue.

the stalling issue is the throttle body. we have replaced a ton of them here on the 3v expeditions. there is a tsb about the seats, just can't remember it. and the odometer is probably the cluster needing to be replaced. you under 3/36 or have esp i hope!

ESP, 3yr/100k gives up on 4/6/09. I wanted to get some ideas before the stealership tried to say that there was nothing wrong. The brakes and pads are still cool. No scores in the rotors and still have about 1/8" of pad left inside and out. I have done ALOT of highway driving with only maintenance braking for 55 of my 70 mile one way commute. Thanks for the input.

The Odometer problem is a COLD SOLDER JOINT in the Ground pin of the Display unit. In most cases a hit with a hot soldering iron fixes the problem but sometimes you need to add a bit of solder to fix it!

This problem is a manufacturing defect by the manufacturer who built these units...and thousands are/were defective...multiple models(trucks too) and years....nuff said

if his esp covers it, might as well get a new cluster. same deductible either way, and the replacement cluster should have already had the issue repaired.
