hi Guys
I'm doing a tilt front end on my truck and am looking for some type of padding to use between the hood and the cab cowl.Since this will show everytime the hood is open I want something that isn detracting from the look of my truck but will offer some protection from wear where the two pieces rub together...
any suggestions guys... some of you 3 piece hood guys should have some good ideas...
JOHN, I would look to a company called "Soft-Seal" They make a wide variety of rubber parts, from weatherstrips to the types of padding you are looking for. I have used many of their products on street rod projects. I do not have their number handy, but you can find an add for them in almost any street rod oriented magazine. What I am thinking of is the same thing you would find on the cowl area of say a 34' Ford where the hood lays on top of it. This 1/2" wide by 1/4" thick seal might work perfect and can be bought in rolls for pretty cheap. Original cars used a rope style seal, but rubber replacements are available. good luck, FOMOGO
