I drain it once a month. Its been a habit since my last truck. I just drain it for a few seconds and shut it off.

Every 4-6 weeks. Im not religious about doing it the first day of every month but rest assured its not neglected. All it takes is one tank of fuel with water in it. Even if you pump from the same station every time you just never know. If I was 100% sure that the fuel I was buying was perfect then I might extend that interval but since I cant analyze the fuel before pumping it I am not taking the chance.
On the 6.0 you had to remove an allen head plug and it would drain all over the place. The 6.4 is soooooo easy with the lever and even has a nipple to attach a hose to. If it were any easier it would do it for you. Even if you havent had problems yet my advice is not to risk it. Takes 30 seconds and no mess at all.

Only 1 problem. What would you drain it in to?

Since we're on the topic of draining the separator, where does everyone dispose of the stuff?

I guess you would install a another tank which of coarse you'd have
to get under the truck to drain

I just drain it into a coffee can and since it is such a small amount I throw it in the lawn mower.

I use an old pickle jar and dispose of the fuel at the fire station's maintenance shop (oil/fuel disposal containers) when it gets full.

I pour it in an old milk jug. When its full I run it down to a friends shop that uses old oil to heat his shop. He just pours it in the tank and its free heat to him.

I have a friend that pours his in to his kerosene heater.
