I've had no issues with my Carter pump and it's been running for nearly two years now. I followed Guzzle's instructions when I installed my Carter pump and did exactly what you're thinking... wired straight to the battery with a 20-amp inline fuse. The only thing I did differently was to wire the power supply into a relay switch with a permissive off of the stock pump's power supply. That way, if anything happened which would kill the stock pump (like being in an accident), the lift pump would go down as well.
I'm already using one as a LIFT PUMP feeding my stock pump. I'm asking about using it to transfer fuel from my Aux. 36 gallon tank in the bed into the OEM tank.

I understand that. I was simply saying that the correct inline fuse would be 20 amps (based on Guzzles instructions). I don't see an issue with using that pump as a transfer pump at all... won't be really fast, but it will ge tthe job done.
