went to start ole blue today n she wont even turn over...the check engine light is on and it clicks once rights when i turn the key but nothing else happens i think starter any other ideas im pretty much ready to tell the insurance company that they can have the P.O.S. truck but i cant find another 300 ANYWHERE nor can can i even find a manual trans. in alberta and even those ones are all 302s anyone know of a good 300 manual trans. for sale local to alberta haha but im still gonna miss it even though its one problem after another
well thanks for your quick input lol...turns out i might be gettin rid of ole blue soon and im lookin at an 86 f150 to replace her only downer is that 86 has a 302 but it has a power chip so i can live with that...and it still a stick and as basic as they get WOO! lol
my understanding of your situation is its clicking when you try to start it. If thats true, your battery is probably dead.
Also, if you think its a "downer" that the 86 has a 302, you should probably just look for a truck with a 300. Dont subject yourself to such reliability, power, and sound.
If its not the battery its the starter of solenoid. Easy way around it, make sure shes in neutral and use a screw driver to short accross the solenoid on the inner fender.
