I have a stupid a question, what is the purpose of the spring on the stock steering shaft right under the steering wheel?
The reason I ask is because I'm using the stock steering shaft/column and modifying them to work with a power steering box. I see there are two "bushings" at the top of the steering column/shaft but I'm not sure what the purpose of the spring is and was wondering if I could remove it without messing something up.
