Question for the experts here
I am replacing my 98 explorer. I am looking at 04/05 explorers. A real nice 02 has come across my path. A mint loaded 02 limited with the 4.6L, only thing it has more kms than I wanted. 150,000 km's. What year did the body style change from 98, I think it was 2000. Does anyone have any info on the 02's, problem wise. Its a good deal price wise but I dont want to have to dump a ton of money into it right away. My dad has had a few crown vics with the 4.6L and all of them have gone over 300,000 kms without any major mech issues. Being that my 98 explorer just ate its timing chain guides at 227,000 kms I dont need to buy another problem. So any info, good or bad about 02's would help me decide to take a chance or not. I was looking at 04/05's so going down to a 02 is ok if I dont get into a problem year vehicle. Thanks for all replys.
