Transmission Pump ? for 4R100 7.3 PSD
Is there a simple test for the pump on our trannys. I have a tech data sheet from " motor all data " that I converted into a word document, but it explains the complete rebuild process as well as the R & R. the problem is mainley the specialized Ford tools required to perform the task. I am happy to forward the tech sheet in an Email via a word doc if anyones interested. I am quite simply looking for a simple test of the pump due to the seal failure on my truck. I would hate to replace the seal an find out the pump is bad after putting everything back together again, then having to do the whole job again.

I'm willing to bet that in the extreme setting, it cranked up the line pressure, causing the pump to blow the seal.
As for your question about testing the pump, there really isn't a way to test it without it installed other than just looking at everything.
