I was wondering if anyone has tried this approach. At work we have a product called X-O rust. Gallon and quarts mostly. A guy I know came in, bought a gallon of orange, 2 paint brushes and some different sand paper. I saw the truck three days later and it looked good for being painted by a brush.
There was some running and orange peel but he said he was wet sanding it to take away all the problems. Did anybody ever try this? Will it work? Anyone even tried this paint or heard of it, becasue I've only seen it in one place, how long would it last? If anyone has tried it tell me how it went or any advice you can give.
It is not automotive paint. It will not last nor will it shine. If it was painted by brush or roller sure you could in theory wet sand it but it is just plain not worth the time.
If you prep a car/truck to paint it do it right the first time.
