Coating springs
I have read that its not a good idea to powdercoat springs be it the front coils or leaf springs..Spring Finishes Tech which is what that link talks about. Has anyone had any problems doing this? Should i have the leafs sandblasted then put them together and paint them or could i por15 them atleast? Also should i just replace the springs and get new? I didn't notice any sag while i was tearing it down. The frame is being powdercoated and im trying to get everything else done so its ready to be put back together.

you can cure powdercoat with uv lights, typical powder cures at about 400degrees, they do make some low temp stuff thats around 200-250 that is used on aluminum wheels when they worry about transition temps. That shouldnt hurt your springs though.
Having said that. Powdercoat is great and durable but i dont know if it would flex enough to survive on your leaves, especially with the leaves rubbing on each other. I think a durable paint is the way to go.
