Some people want to slide things across the bedliner while others don't. If you want things to stay put, tell the LINE-X dealer to add more texture. The more the texture, the more the grip.
Check out Ameraguard its a lot like Line-X except its fade resistant with out adding any thing to it. And the reason they cost so much.....The material is bloody expensive!!!! I know 'cause i spray Ameraguard=)

Nope, that's incorrect. Ameraguard is an aromatic (sensitive to UV light) polyol product and thus WILL fade. However, Ameraguard dealers can apply an aliphatic (not sensitive to UV light) topcoat. The problem with that is that most of the topcoats available are not durable enough for a truck bed and you can wear right through the topcoat.
Not Ameraguard, but here's a worn down aliphatic topcoat:
The Line -X thing has got me thinkin. The only thing that I don't like is on the 09's everyone is sayin they dont spray the tailgate. Is the "man step" easy to take out and put back in so that you can get the tailgate sprayed? Anyone know this? Thanks.
The problem isn't really the "man step" itself, but the handle that pops up. You would have to remove the handle and the plastic cover. I'm not sure if it would be feasible to spray the tailgate and not put the plastic back on? I kinda doubt it since the plastic is shaped to keep the handle from ketching things you slide over it.
However, having the factory plastic liner on the tailgate actually makes it easier to load things since they will slide easily over this part.
I just had my truck done about 2 weeks ago and they did the tailgate fine. The installer removed all the screws and then sprayed bed/tailgate, returned screws to the proper holes and it looks great. Have had no function problems with tailgate at all. Chris

Apparently you missed the part where i said i apply Ameraguard. We have it in several of our trucks and quite frankly they are not that faded. They may not have had anything in it to keep it from fading to begin with but they do now!
Well, sorry, but Ameriguard doesn't do anything different than any of the other brands that use aromatic resins. The black pigment that's used is pretty much the same stuff along with some stabilizers. That's just the way it is. Now, if they used aliphatic resin, then that's different, but they don't.
My bad, I just checked and they said all Ameraguard colors except for black are Aliphatic, so apparently the black is Aromatic while the other colors are not. So, we were both right!
Ameraguard colored bedliners are aromatic and then topcoated with an aliphatic topcoat. The website states they use "automotive paint pigment" incorporated into the topcoat. That means that it's probably urethane based. LINE-X used to do this also, but found that the topcoats were not durable enough. Hence, the developement of LINE-X Xtra.
LINE-X Xtra: No fading, no loss of gloss, and durable enough for a truck bed:

Trust me, when we spray color there is no topcoat, It is all sprayed at the same time. So it is not an aromatic liner with an aliphatic topcoat. I'm not sure what they mean on their website when they say topcoat, cause when we spray color it has color all the way through it.
There seems to be some confusion somewhere, not sure where it is. Typically, you would apply a bedliner that is pigmented close to the color of the truck. But, the bedliner is aromatic (and will fade and change color if you were to stop at this point). Then, an aliphatic topcoat is applied on top of the pigmented bedliner.
From Ameraguard's website, cut and paste: All Ameraguard color bedliners (excluding Black) are applied using an aliphatic elastomer top coat; incorporating automotive paint pigments to produce a color match that will keep its color as long as any automotive finish.
