I just bought a new gas tank for the rear tank i was searching for the junction box but couldnt find it and was wondering is the pump before the junction bbox towards the motor side or do i need to buy the lines filter and pump for this new tank
If your still using the stock set-up the pump should be the mechanical one on the motor. Therefore you would need only the pick-up and screen for your tank.
ok cool it looks very tight back there where it'd be hard to run the neck up to the opening does the neck typically run above the frame on its way to the door?
In the process of replacing the tank in my 74 F100 4x4. The vent tube and the filler go between the frame and the bed, real tight, but do-able. It your putting in a new tank get a new sending unit that has the screen, float, etc. Also, make sure you get the right tank. There are 2 different ones out there I found out. 1 has just the hole for the sending unit and the vent and filler, the other has an additional hole in the top center for the charcol canister. I didn't think mine had the can when I ordered the tank, then when I pulled it down, there was an extra line. Oh well, Iowa doesn't smog yet anyways.
ok i havent checked the tank yet i order the OEM tank from LMC so im assuming it should be what i need lets hope but whats the fun in it working the first time right? nothing ever does with this thing
can you tell me the dimensions of that tank. from side of tank to side of tank (not including the pinch weld or seam). if you can that would be geat. thanks
I can get the dimensions on Friday night if you need them, but it's frame rail to frame rail and cross member to cross member. That includes the pinch weld. I had to lift the drivers side up and in while beating the passengers side in. The side to side of the one I got is a little bit larger then the old OEM one. But it holds gas. The worst thing the manufacturer swapped the filler tube hole and the vent hole, or my truck is swapped. So it made from a little tight quarters trying to get the vent tube up and over the filler tube and then onto the vent.
