I have a 2004 Ford F-150 and I have this incredibly annoying sweaking noise. It's only when I back up and it's when i'm pressing the gas, so I know it can't be the brakes plus I just changed them a year ago. It sounds like a rubbery sweaking noise. I've tried to pinpoint the location, but it sounds like it goes through my entire frame so it's hard to find where it is coming from. Can anyone help me please???
Welcome to FTE new user. knowone else had anything to say on this, but the first thing I would do is eliminate break squeal for sure. Lift each wheel off the ground and rotate it backwards to see what you hear. If that doesn't help, then I would lift and support both rear wheels, start the truck and put it in reverse and climb out to try to pinpoint the source. My wifes car had a terrible squeal comming from the left front that would come and go this winter. It went away, but I pulled the caliper and rotor off and could see where a rock had gotten lodged between the rotor and backing plate as there were small gouges on the backing plate.
I had more of a creaking noise on my 04 Screw when in reverse and backing into my drive (uneven surface). I narrowed it down to bed bolts or tailgate. Couldn't figure it out so I just try to ignore it.

My squeeking noise was when turning: I shot some lube on the outer tie rod ends and it helps for a while. Then I also have a hard to describe noise when turning, and it goes up and down in pitch even at the smae moving speed. It seemed the dealer shot some spray on the rubber boots, I believe, for the front steering. Lasted for a while... My squeeking sounds differant than your but its just another place for you to look. Either that or crank up the radio, or drop a loud muffler on her...
