t case problems
does it sound like my tcase has went out. when i shifted from high range to low range truck acts like t case is in neutral got it in reverse once but came right out? any soulutions or thoughts

it is possible the range fork in the T-case has become worn to the point that it wont hold the selected range. It will act like you dont have reverse because of the way the teeth are cut in the gear it is barely in gear for forward but slips out in reverse. Cheap piece to replace, pain in the tookus to get to though.
After reading your other post, definitely check to see if your linkage is shifting well before yanking the t-case.

Some truck info would be nice. It's my experience if you live in the rust belt that the shift lever seizes up and needs to be torn apart and greased well to operate properly. You need to crawl under the truck and verify the lever is operating the tcase properly. Then go from there. RB

You are going to have to crawl under the truck while someone operates the lever to verify what is going on with the gear selector. Anything is possible with an older truck with unknown usage, including a bent linkage.
