Yes, it was fixed by the time I got home last night. Took a surprisingly long time to get it back to normal temperature range too.

In case anyone is interested, turns out the heating element had been touched (bare fingers) by the landlord the last time he installed it, I guess those porcelan ones are like Hallogens, not supposed to touch them. Also the HVAC guy said it was installed in the wrong location.

Both my gas fired HVAC and stove use "hot point" pilots...looks like a big glow plug out of our trucks. Several years ago the hot point on the oven stopped working and it was a pain to replace the relay that was causing the trouble. I don't even remember what the issue was...other than it wouldn't start. I just remember having to take the broiler drawer out to get to it; thinking the how time it would be easier if I could just take the back off...but that wasn't an option.

Glad you got your heat working again Lisa...or at least for Mattie's sake

Lisa if your heat breaks again I bet Jim would be happy to give you soomewhere to stay and we could work on your truck while you're here.

BTW Steve you're a great guy but you're messed in the head. If it's cold and not snowing its no good.

Now an 8" storm at 1"/hr would be nice...

My forecast says flurries and snow shower. No accumulation numbers so I'm not expecting much out of it.

I dunno, Lisa. After having met Jim in person several times I'd have to say I think he could give you a run for your money.
