rough start
anyone that can help my truck when i go to start it in the morning or after its been sitting 10-12 hrs i try to start it and it just turns over and nothin just a lot of white smoke then i try for a couple more mins after about 4 to 5 min of tryin to start it finally does but it produces alot of white smoke and black smoke i just replaced the batteries,gpr,starter. so im lost

no ive never checked the glow plugs but would that make it ok to start after like 4 or 5 hrs at like 20 degrees outside it seems like it only doesnt start after it sits for like 10-12 hrs and also my oil pressure gauge drops to nothin when i try to start it after the glowplug lights go out the gauge is in the middle then it drops to nothing when i turn the key

Sorry.. I just re read what you had typed.. Next time, before you start your truck.. Remove the 7.3 cover.. On the right side of the HPOP ( gold box ) is a set screw. Remove that and check the oil level there. It should be no less then a 1/4" down.

ok i checked the level and its only a little down maybe a 1/4 if that but it only sat for like 6 hours and it fired right up do you think there is a way i could be losing oil? and if i can see tomorrow morning at 5am ill check it but if thats the case how would i fix a problem like this?
