Okay, my stockpile of engine parts is getting large enough I need storage ideas. I've got 6 cranks standing up on their flanges, but I'm always afraid of knocking them over. I thought of making some wooden cradles based on an "iron maiden" style clamping. This will simulate the mains being supported like a block and then I can stack them on my shelving.
My concern is moisture in the wood. I plan on greasing them well before clamping them. Anyone done something similar to this?
