When I go over bumps my truck rattles in the front suspension. I think my bushings must be bad. it couldn't be the ball joints because I recently changed them. Where would be the best place to purchase new bushings and what kind should I get?
Before you buy Energy Suspension bushings for your sway-bar and sway-bar drop links, or drop hundreds on ball-joints, put your hand around the passenger side lower end of the shock and have someone bounce strait up and down on your front bumper. If you are talking about the driver side, do the same thing.
I had the same thing and I replaced all of the sway bar bushings. They tried to get me to buy new connecting rods for the sway bar because they said they don't make rebuild kits for them but I found one. I had to go to Auto Zone and Energy Suspension makes the kit. I think it ran about $50 and was fairly easy to do. A torch is almost required to get the old ones out of the connecting rods but other than that is very easy to do. The kit came with all of the bushings needed and took me about an hour to do it all. Also, another advantage to Energy Suspension is that the new bushings will be polyurethane instead of rubber.
I have Energy Suspension all around in my Sway-Bars. I like them. But, what I suggested is my lower shock mount didn't rattle for years, then it did. I just found it.

What would this tell you or what would he find? Thanks
It tells me and you that them dang lower shock mounts can some how back out and cause a rattle. Drove me crazy. Even though the nut has a little doo hicky on it to keep it from spinning off, the bolt it self must have backed out. I'm not saying this is his problem. I'm just suggesting checking it before throwing parts at the other stuff.
Mine were soo tight I ruined the nut with an impact gun and PB Blaster. But it still rattled.................
I replaced my lower shock mount bolts and fixed the rattle. Ford uses a shoulder bolt, I just used a 12mm shock mount bolt and kept the original nuts with the lock tab.

Similar to what I did. The Ford bolt shoulder is tapered. I went to Lowes and bought bolts with a longer shoulder and slightly larger in diameter and put a new Ford shock mount bolt on.
